Commissioning Year 6 Leaders
Last Wednesday we gathered to celebrate and commission our Year Six Student Leaders for 2021. Thank you to Father Damien, our new parish priest who celebrated this liturgy with our school community. Congratulations to our School Captains, Vice Captains, Sports Captains and School Representative Council (SRC).

National Apology to the Stolen Generations
Last Friday Mrs Mansbridge and our Year 6 leaders lead us in prayer as we commemorated the 13th anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations.
In 2008, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd presented this apology in the Australian Parliament, a momentous occasion of recognition and reconciliation in our nation's history.
National Apology Day is a day to remember and pray for the children who were taken away from their families and homes, and commit to right the wrongs of past injustices and build a bridge of respect between all people.
CEDoW and our Catholic schools are committed to walking together with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sisters and brothers in a spirit of reconciliation.
We honour the history of this Great South Land. We remember the stories of those who have gone before us and seek to ensure the future is one of peace, reconciliation and harmony for all who walk this land.

Meet and Greet  - Weeks 4 and 5
Screen_Shot_2021_02_17_at_9.32.13_pm.png
Meet and Greet meetings will continue this week. It was wonderful to see so many parents taking the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher. This is an important first step in forming the integral partnership between parents and teachers to support student learning. We also thank the teachers for organising these meetings.
Strong parent-teacher relationships are one of the
hallmarks of all great schools.

Our Kindergarten students have made a great start to the year. They have embraced their new surroundings and have connected really well with their Year 5 buddies. Thank you to Mrs Beckhaus for setting up routines and preparing the students so well for learning. Thank you also to our wonderful Kindergarten parents who have been helping to support their children on this big step into 'Big' school. We look forward to sharing lots of our learning and special news in the future.
