Welcome back to Term 2. This term, due to changes in COVID-19 restrictions we will be able to attend Mass and celebrate feast days and special occasions with the parish. There will still be limited numbers in the church but we welcome the opportunity to celebrate together. There are a few feasts and celebrations this term that you may want to add to your calendars.
Mothers’ Day Mass
Kindergarten, Year 1, 2 and 3 will be preparing and attending Mass on Friday 7 May at 9 am to celebrate all Mothers. Please join us for this special time. Please see the Mother's Day flyer that was sent home on Compass regarding Mother's Day.
Mary Help of Christians
On Monday 24 May, Stage 2 and 3 will celebrate the feast of Mary Help of Christians the Patroness of Australia. On this day we will also celebrate 200 years of Catholic Education and the 60th Anniversary of our school.
Sacred Heart of Jesus
On Friday 11 June, Stage 2 and 3 will celebrate the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This is especially important as our school was founded by the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus.
Parish Mass, Class Visits and Reconciliation
Father Damien will continue his visits with classes this term. The students will have an opportunity to visit the church and to ask Father Damien questions about signs, symbols and rituals of our Catholic faith.
Confirmation
The sacramental program for Confirmation will be held this term. A note with all details regarding meetings and expectations will be sent home very soon. A reminder that Confirmation will be celebrated by Bishop Brian on Tuesday 20 July (Term 3 Week 2) at St Francis of Assisi Church Warrawong.
Activate
On the 21 June, Year 6 will participate in a day called Activate that will be lead by the Diocesan Youth team. The students will travel to St John’s Dapto who are hosting the event, and spend the day involved in activities related to Confirmation and the Holy Spirit.
