- Claude Monet was born in Paris, France on November 14, 1840.
- When Monet was young he liked to draw funny cartoon pictures.
- Claude Monet was the first person to paint outdoors.
- His mum died when he was sixteen.
- Monet lived happily but in 1861 Claude Monet had to go to the French army.
- When he was in the army he got sick and got sent home.
- He died on December 5, 1926. He was 86 years old.
