Baptism
We congratulate Isabella from Year 3, who was welcomed into the Catholic Church on Sunday, receiving the Sacrament of Baptism. Fr Damien welcomed her in a beautiful ceremony. Isabella has been looking forward to this celebration all year. She looked beautiful and was able to answer the Baptismal Promises. What a wonderful day for Isabella and her family!
Socktober Mission Collection and Crazy Sock Day
Thank you to all those who supported our crazy sock day. The school raised $220, which will support the people of Thailand. Photos have been shared on Facebook of our crazy socks.
Advent
This Sunday is the beginning of the season of Advent. Some people use this time for fasting, study, meditation and prayer. Our Catholic faith uses the Advent Wreath as a symbol of Advent. The candles, three purple and one rose on the Advent wreath, symbolise hope, love, joy, and peace. Sometimes there is also a white candle in the middle to symbolise Christmas.
Let us prepare for the great feast of Christmas during Advent.
Advent Prayer: Awaken Us
Dear Lord God, awaken us, that we may be ready when your dear Son comes, that we may receive him with joy and serve you with pure hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
