Mobile Phones at school
Some students have been bringing mobile phones to school as they need to contact parents after school. Whilst this is OK, this is a reminder that if a student brings a mobile phone to school, they should hand this in to the office at the beginning of the day, and collect in the afternoon. The phone will be securely stored during this time and if you as a parent need to contact your child during the school day, this can be done through the school office. Thank you for your understanding.
Compass Update
Compass Update
As you are aware, we have recently moved over to a new system called Compass. This is a streamlined system allowing efficient communication between school and home, and also has many other beneficial functions. Thank you to the many parents who attended the P&F meeting this week and were given a great insight into the use of Compass.
We have recently opened the function allowing us to send an SMS to any parent of a student who is marked absent for a school day. The SMS will be sent at 10am each day, and provides parents with a quick link to enter a reason for the absence. Early feedback indicates that this is far more effective and convenient for parents than writing a note and sending to school.
In the coming weeks, you will receive a letter with login details, allowing you to access the Compass website and the Compass app. We will also be offering parent information and support sessions to provide information on how to set up and use the parent portal if required.
