What an amazing day for our Athletics Carnival on Friday 17 June! We couldn't have asked for better weather.
Congratulations to all of our students who participated with pride and joy, it is great to have whole school events back.
A HUGE thank you to our fantastic parents and families who supported the carnival in many ways, we are blessed to have you all in our community.
Our staff put in a mammoth effort to ensure every single student enjoyed their day - thanks to our staff for their commitment.
Finally, congratulations to our Parents team who won the inaugural Parents/Teachers/Students Challenge!

Trophies, Age Champion medallions and ribbons will be presented at our assembly tomorrow, Friday 1 July starting at 2pm.

Sporting Schools (Years 2-6)
We have been fortunate to secure a grant through Sporting Schools Australia to run a program with students in Years 2-6 next term. We are awaiting confirmation on which sport students will participate in.
Further details will be communicated early next term once we have clarified details of the program.
Sam Bremner Girls Rugby League
Good luck to our Senior Girls Rugby League team who will compete in the Sam Bremner Shield next term, Tuesday 02 August. Stay tuned for results and photos!

Please see Compass for full details including the event program and events your child has been selected for (including relays).
Please let Mr Murphy know if your child is unable to attend this day, as a replacement can be arranged.
Soccer Gala Days
We regret to advise that the CEDoW leadership has made a decision that all gala days set for the near future are to be cancelled. The levels of staff and student absenteeism are at extreme levels so all non-essential professional learning including non-pathway sport is suspended until further notice. The aim is to ensure that teachers are available for classroom teaching in this time of excessive staff shortages.
Therefore, the soccer gala days set for Friday 29 July have been cancelled. There are seven gala days in soccer all up, which all take out a large number of staff at each venue and also a significant number of secondary students who act as our referees.
This is unfortunate as the gala days, as you know, are so valued and enjoyed by our students in a time when exercise and activity are so important. It is, however, most important to consider the widespread nature of current illness and absenteeism and the predicted forecast that this pattern will continue over the next month or so.
We are hoping that we are going to be able to arrange a smaller scale alternative, possibly with other local schools, in Term 3. We will keep you updated with information on this.
NSW Touch Football Carnival
The NSW Touch Football Carnival will be held on Tuesday 09 August at Thomas Dalton Park, Fairy Meadow. Further details will be available on Compass early in Term 3. This is a non-competitive day designed for enjoyment, physical activity and learning new skills. We will have six teams attending the day (see below - Junior is Year 3 and 4 and Senior is Year 5 and 6).
Junior Boys Team 1 - Karem Y, Aleksander C, Christian G, Roman C, Theodore M, Mohamad J, Isaac S, Rocco M
Junior Boys Team 2 - Mateo N, Abdul-Karim M, Antonio F, Ronan B, Yehia S, Ali H, Seth P
Junior Girls - Angelina D, Abigail R, Natinee P, Aaliyah S, Amelia S, Anastasia M, Genevieve U, Joella R
Senior Boys Team 1 - Brae A, Ali H, Evan K, Ryan O, Phillip T, Rocco B, Brock M, Lucas P
Senior Boys Team 2 - Luka C, Hussein A, Braedyn S, Joshua M, Abbas H, Marco C, Hassan H, Manuel O, Ace T
Senior Girls - Makedde A, Zaynab R, Amara A, Lauren C, Sara E, Razan H, Felicia O, Jessica S, Celina Y
Please note: We have decided since the Athletics is a Diocesan pathway event, and the touch day is a non-progressive carnival run by the NSW Touch Football Association, that the expectation is all students selected in the Athletics team will attend that event. This has been explained to the students.
Basketball Gala Days TBC
At this stage we are planning for these days to go ahead. Any decision around these days will be in the hands of CEDoW leadership.
The Junior (Years 3-4) day is set down for Thursday 08 September, and the Senior (Years 5-6) day is set down for Friday 09 September. The venue for both days is Illawarra Sports Stadium, Berkeley.
Teams will be selected early in Term 3 with further details to follow on Compass.
