Our Year 5 and 6 students enjoyed the opportunity to attend an overnight excursion to Canberra last week. Thank you to the teachers for their organisation, care and for providing the students with many memorable moments. Thank you to Father Damien for his support and meeting our students to visit Duntroon Chapel together.

"Spending time with my classmates and friends on this trip was a lot of fun. The National Exhibition Centre in Canberra, which offers a wealth of information about the birth of Canberra, was my favourite stop on the excursion. Aside from this, I think my favourite thing was when we went to our rooms and relaxed and had fun. The bus trip home was also a highlight, with everyone laughing and singing. It was a trip to remember!" By Sekne

For our students to visit Canberra last week and undertake an education tour of the national capital and be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage, and democracy. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government contributed funding of $30.00 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. This rebate was put towards reducing the cost of the overnight excursion for families so this opportunity was possible and affordable.
