School Traffic Rules
We have had a few concerns from residents in the streets around our school about parents blocking driveways or making unsafe u-turns during school pick-up/drop-off. Please remember there are road rules that are enforceable by law and school rules that we put in place to ensure the safety of our students during drop-off and pick-up times.
Road Rules enforceable by law include:-
• No u-turns across double lines or in school zones.
• No parking in school zones in "No parking' times.
• No going over 40 km in school zones.
• Not using mobile phones when driving.
Rules that we put in place as a school to ensure student safety include:
• Using the Pedestrian Crossing at all times.
• Holding hands with children (especially younger children) when crossing the road.
• Ensure children only enter or leave the car on the passenger side to avoid them
standing or exiting on the road.
• Parent/s remain in cars at all times when using "car pick line."
Please do not block the driveway while waiting in the pickup line at the back of the school on Bruce Road, as this is a one-way lane and vehicles need to exit.
Return in summer uniform on Monday 10 October
Students will return in Term 4 wearing their summer school uniform. Please note students' hair, uniform, and appearance should be in such a condition so as to invite only positive comments. Hair cuts must be neat and tidy. Long hair is to be tied back. Extreme hair cuts and coloured hair are not permitted. The emphasis is on evenly cut hair. Please ensure students return to school next term following all school uniform expectations. Thank you.
2023 - Transition to School through Play and Orientation - Term 4
In Term 4, we will have the pleasure of welcoming our 2023 Kindergarten students to our school for their Transition to School Playgroup sessions. These sessions will begin on Thursday 13 October at 1.30 pm. Below are the Playgroup Transition to school dates and times. The sessions will be approximately 1 hour starting at 1.30 pm on alternate Mondays and Thursdays for 8 weeks. We ask that a parent or carer attends the playgroup sessions with your child. Upon completion of the Playgroup program, a Kindergarten Orientation will be held on Monday 5 December at 9.30 am. At this meeting, the children will go to their Kindergarten Classroom, and parents will attend an information session in the school hall. We are looking forward to meeting our Kindergarten students and their families.
