Throughout Term 3, children from K-6 have been dramatically exploring the Children’s Book Council of Australia's shortlisted children’s books for Drama. For the past few weeks, the children in Years 3-6 have tried their hands at some filmmaking, bringing to life these wonderful stories on screen. They have explored using a variety of film techniques, including various camera angles, zooms, and panning shots, and experimented with how effective these are in producing the best possible “take” (and the “bloopers” which don’t quite make the cut). We are currently editing these short films using iMovie, where we are enjoying experimenting with how different transitions and sound effects can create different moods and theatrical effects. Who knows - perhaps our humble little St Francis of Assisi school might produce the next Spielberg?  Mr deVet
