World Teachers' Day

World Teachers' Day is celebrated in Australia on Friday 28 October. The day is a great opportunity for everyone to acknowledge our staff for the important role they play in shaping the next generation. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our teachers and support staff for their collaborative contribution to advancing the learning of our students. Teaching is a vocation, a calling from God, not just a ‘job’.  I encourage you to take the time to personally thank your child’s teacher on World Teachers' Day.

The theme for World Teachers’ Day this year is “Hats off to Teachers”. To celebrate World Teachers’ Day, the students are invited to wear their favourite hats on the following days.

Students in Years 3 and 4 wear their school hats on their excursion on Friday.

Keeping Safe Around our School

Just a reminder to all parents and carers, please be vigilant during drop-off and pick-up. Please follow the road rules in and around the school. It is important for everyone to use the school crossing when crossing the road. These rules and procedures are in place to keep everyone safe. 

2023 - Transition to School through Play and Orientation - Term 4
Our Kindergarten Transition to School through Play sessions commenced last week for children starting kindergarten next year. The children were very excited to meet their new friends. Starting school is an important milestone in any child and family’s life. Research suggests that children who have a positive start to school are more likely to engage well in their learning and school life. It is our hope to nurture this positive start through our transition to school program that will provide the following opportunities.

Notes, Newsletters and Notifications

Term 4 is always a busy time. There is a lot happening at St Francis of Assisi, and I would ask you all to stay in touch with what is coming up by reading our Compass notifications, notes and newsletter. We will endeavour to spread these throughout the week. However, on some occasions, there may be a few notes or notifications over the course of the week. Please do not hesitate to contact the teachers or the office if you have any questions. Thank you for all your support.
