Crazy Socks for Catholic Mission - Thank You
To support the important work of Catholic Mission, we recently held a Crazy Sock Day and classes engaged in a soccer shoot-out. Thank you to everyone who supported this day. We were able to raise $221.65 for Catholic Mission. The students also had lots of fun creating sockballs and engaging in our soccer shoot-out competition! Congratulations to our goal-kicking champions: Luka and Quinten (Kinder), Oliver (Yr 1), Ali (Yr 2), Rahwa (Yr 3), Nicholas (Yr 4), Luka (5B), Matineekran (5G) and Lauren (Yr 6).

As noted in our last newsletter, throughout the month of November, our Church encourages us to pray for those who have died.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
First Holy Communion
We extend our congratulations to the large number of children from our school and parish communities who gathered at St Mary of the Rosary, Berkeley and St Francis of Assisi, Warrawong, last weekend to celebrate their First Communion. This weekend, the remaining children from the First Holy Communion program will also celebrate this significant event in their faith journey.
At the First Communion Information Night earlier in the term, I referred to the ancient mosaic that is situated in front of the altar inside the Church of the Multiplication in Tabgha, Israel. We would all be familiar with the story of the loaves and fishes where Jesus fed a multitude of people using the gifts of five loaves and two fish that were offered.
In this mosaic, we see only four loaves of bread in the basket. The placement of this mosaic within the Church of the Multiplication - right in front of the altar - tells us that this is not a mathematical oversight by the artist. Rather, it is a deliberate attempt to remind us that the fifth loaf continues to be broken and shared every time the Mass is celebrated. In this way, Jesus continues to feed the multitudes that gather in his name. For those who received Jesus in Holy Communion for the first time last weekend and for those who will receive this gift this weekend, we pray that they will continue to gather at the altar to be nourished by the Eucharist, so they are well equipped to be the presence of Jesus in the world.
