Dear Parents and Carers

With one day of our school year to go and only ten days until Christmas, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff, students and parents, and parish community for the ongoing support that you all give to St Francis of Assisi school. As we pause to look back, you might recall that it was only in March this year that we saw COVID-19 restrictions finally eased in our schools. It was great to have school return to somewhat normal this year. It has been wonderful to be able to have community events, as well as extracurricular activities, on the calendar this year. This builds community and provides opportunities for our students to participate in events and activities beyond the classroom. These rich experiences, binding with peers, is often what the students remember most of their time at school. As the year progressed, we continued to be affected by the virus, and experienced illness in staff, students, and parents throughout the year. I want to thank the leadership team for their tireless work in ensuring our classes were covered every day and our part-time staff and casual teachers for stepping in when required.

We are very grateful to you all. Not once this year did we have to split classes due to staff absences—a testament to your commitment to our school.

Thank you to our dedicated staff, who have worked tirelessly throughout the year, demonstrating tremendous adaptability and dedication. Thank you to all our families for your generosity this year and for your kind acts and thoughtful messages.  

I'm very proud of the achievements of our students, something that has been acknowledged and affirmed in our student assessment data.

Thank you to Fr Damien, Deacon Mick and the Sisters of the Visitation for their spiritual guidance and support. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful and unwavering support from our parish community.

As Principal, it is a privilege to lead this vibrant and caring community.

We wish you all the joys and blessings that Christmas brings. The birth of Jesus renews our hope in realising God's plan for each of us. It is a special time as family and friends gather together. During this time, we remember those less fortunate and those who will not have family or friends to share the spirit of Christmas. We hope your travels over the holidays are safe and peaceful. Thank you again.
