Welcome Back
Welcome back to the new school year. I hope the Christmas holidays provided you with some time to relax and reconnect with family and friends. It has been lovely to see our classrooms and playgrounds filled with children again. We are all looking forward to welcoming our new Kindergarten students next week.Rest in Peace
Over the Christmas break, our Church learned of the deaths of both Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI and George Cardinal Pell. We pray:
Eternal rest, grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace. Amen
Australia Day
Last Thursday, our nation celebrated Australia Day. While there may be mixed feelings in the community regarding the date we observe Australia Day, there is no doubt that we have much to celebrate. The collect (opening prayer) used at our Masses on Australia Day reads:
Grant, we pray, O Lord our God,
that as the cross shines in our southern skies,
so may Christ bring light to our nation,
to its peoples old and new,
and by saving grace, transform our lives.
Opening School Mass and Commissioning of our Year Six Leaders
Next Wednesday (8 February), the whole school will gather with our parish community at the 9 am Mass to celebrate our Opening School Mass. This Mass will include the commissioning of our Year Six leaders for 2023. All are most welcome to join us.
