Morning Drop-Off Procedures
Mornings can be hectic as families try to get out the door to school and work. Having school bags ready the night before with your child's hat, reading folder, and library bag (when required) is a good idea. Lunches can be semi-prepared the night before, so they just have to be assembled and placed into the bag that morning. Younger children may need help in getting their bags ready. However, older children are encouraged to take responsibility for their belongings and pack their own school bags. All students should carry thein bag into school. When students arrive, they place their bags on their class seats and put on their hat. Students play until the morning bell when they walk straight to their class area for morning prayer.
Children who arrive after 8.45 am must go through the school office and will require a late note.
Please note: School supervision does not begin until 8:15 am.
Students should not be at school prior to this time.
https://raisingchildren.net.au/ is a website full of great advice on many topics about raising children. For example, there are links to creating healthy lunches through to dealing with your child's first day. Take some time to have a look.
SCHOOL ATTENDANCE .....EVERY LEARNER, EVERY DAY!
- School attendance plays a critical role in enhancing the lives of students in school.
- Every day of attendance adds to a student's academic achievement and success.
- School attendance is compulsory for every school-age student.
Parents can help by promoting the importance of school by:
- ensuring your child attends school every day
- arriving at school punctually (school begins at 8:40 am)
- leading by example ... be organised and ready
We are keen to support parents in developing and consolidating good attendance habits in every student.
Appointments
Please make appointments outside of school hours where possible.
If your child has to leave school early for an appointment, please notify the teacher in writing on the morning of the appointment to avoid disrupting the class and their learning.
Absent Compass Notifications
Please respond to the absent notifications with an explanation for your child's absence.
Punctuality
It is important for children to learn punctuality and arrive at school by
8.30 am.
