From the Principal Desk
Strong parent-teacher relationships are one of the hallmarks of a great school.
Teacher Professional Development and Leave
Like professionals in other fields, all teachers are required to keep up to date with current thinking on best practices and new developments in areas such as curriculum and technology. From time to time, teachers are required to attend professional development opportunities to learn about changes to the curriculum, new teaching and learning methods, and other ways of integrating technology.
These sessions sometimes occur during the day, after school, or during school holidays.
At times, staff may need to take long service, maternity, family, sick, and bereavement leave. As a result, there will be times when your child's teacher is absent from the classroom. The teacher's program and lesson day plans are taught on these days. Teachers will collaborate and communicate with the casual teacher so that teaching and learning continue and routines are maintained. At all times, student needs and school timetables are considered. We thank you for your support.
Building Update
After three years, the staff and students were excited to see the building fences come down around the renovations. We are counting down the days until we receive the handover of this area of the school and the commissioning of the lift.

Caritas Project Compassion Launch
Last Tuesday, Charlie and Marco, our school captains, accompanied Mrs Davidson to the launch of Project Compassion. Bishop Brian encouraged all in attendance to continue to be the voice for others. To go out of our way to be the face of Jesus in word and action.
Thank you to the staff and students at St Columbkille's Catholic Primary School, Corrimal, for your kind hospitality.
