From the Acting Assistant Principal
Goodbye and Good Luck
We would like to thank Mrs Pilon for her work with Year 5 this term. She has been a great support to the class and they have enjoyed getting to know her as a teacher. Mrs Pilon has accepted an opportunity at another Diocesan school for Terms 3 and 4 of this year. We wish her all the best in this endeavour, and the future.
Professional Experience Teaching Students
Over the past 3 weeks, we have been fortunate to have Miss Mia Croman and Miss Georgina Whyte from the University of Wollongong working in our Year 5 Gold class. Both Miss Croman and Miss Whyte are studying teachers and thoroughly enjoyed their time at St Francis of Assisi. We wish them all the best for their future careers in teaching and thank them for their time spent with us.
Teaching and Learning Update
During the last few weeks, our staff has worked hard to complete your child's Semester One Reports. We thank them for their efforts in this time-consuming process which is designed to capture an overview of the student's learning to date.
Our Kindergarten, Year 1, and Year 2 teachers continue to engage in professional learning around the implementation of the new English and Maths Syllabuses. Year 3-6 teachers will begin the planning phase with professional learning for these new syllabuses this year. Congratulations to all of the students for their learning gains in Semester One.
Our teachers have had the opportunity to meet together to observe, analyse and interpret data in relation to each child's learning. These collaborative days give the staff the opportunity to have open and honest discussions about the learning and teaching happening in their classrooms, and how they can continually improve their teaching practice in order to support all students.
Congratulations to our staff for their dedication to the profession. They have the utmost care and respect for all of the students in our school and are committed to improving their learning and well-being and growing their faith.

Thank you
Thank you to all of our parents and carers who have made the time to meet with your child's class teacher over the last few weeks. The teachers greatly value the time they can meet with you and enjoy working in partnership with you to maximise the improvement in learning, faith, and well-being of your children.
Thank you all, for your support in the various aspects of school life. It does not go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated by our school community. Wishing everyone a happy and relaxing student vacation period. Whether you are traveling or not, please be safe and enjoy the break.
We look forward to welcoming you back in Term 3.
Mr Brett Murphy
