Dear Parents and Carers

Reflection: Matthew 25:1–13

In last Sunday's Gospel, Matthew writes of the parable of ten bridesmaids waiting for the groom. Some of the bridesmaids are wise, and some are unpractical. The parable reminds us that the wise have the spiritual wisdom of love, faith and forgiveness. It helps us focus on the here and now, learn to live totally in the present, and seek and find God there. Matthew also reminds us to be responsible, prepared, and mindful of the timing of important events in our lives. Live each day, making it our best, and make wise choices so that we can fully enjoy the celebrations and opportunities that come our way.

With just over a month of school left this term, there are still plenty of wonderful learning opportunities as the students and their teachers work towards the end of the year. We encourage everyone, especially our Year 6 students and their families, to make the most of the next few weeks and cherish the special moments during this time.

Students' behaviour can change as we head into these last few weeks of the school year. Many adults find this time of year busy, and our children can feel tired and anxious. With some added social events and late nights, it is not uncommon for children to 'test the boundaries' as they fatigue. This can result in friendship difficulties on the playground, poor decisions, and being reactive and more emotional than usual. Supporting children during these times is extremely important. Please continue to contact our staff if your child feels tired or unsettled or if regular routines change due to work commitments or the busyness of the end of the year. Please let us know where we can be of any assistance.

On Monday, we celebrated World Kindness Day. A day where we promoted and celebrated acts of kindness. This day serves as a reminder of the positive impact that kindness has on individuals, communities, and the world at large. Kindergarten had a special message for us. It is cool to be kind!
