    End of Term 3
Thanks to everyone in our school community for another wonderful term. It has been a busy term, with lots of events taking place. Despite this, our focus at St Francis remains on improving student faith, learning and well-being every day. Our staff strive to improve learning outcomes for all students as we educate the whole child each and every day.
Thanks to all of our parents and carers who work in partnership to ensure that your child is thriving.
As always, please don't hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns. We are always willing to work with you to support you in any way we can.

Science and Technology and Personal Development/Health Workbooks were taken home at the end of last week. Thank you to the parents and carers who took the time to look at the learning your child has been involved in, and completed the reflection slip in their workbooks.

Reminder about special achievements for assemblies
A reminder that this form is available if you would like us to recognise your child's achievement at our Friday assembly. This could be a sporting achievement, dancing, singing, performing achievement, martial arts, etc. Anything that your child has achieved outside of school. We would love to share the good news stories of our students.

NOTE: All forms completed by the Monday of the week of the Friday assembly will be included. Any forms received after that will be included in the following assembly.
    Public Speaking
Congratulations to our Year 5 and Year 6 students who were finalists in the CDF Diocesan Public Speaking Competition. On Monday, they presented their speeches to their peers, staff and 3 esteemed judges from the Wollongong Toastmasters Club. Thanks to Tony, Paul and Ken for their time and expertise to adjudicate the students' speeches.
All students received very positive feedback from the judges, and were commended on their efforts to speak so well in front of a large audience. The judges were also very complimentary of the content in the speeches, and noted a lot of work must have gone into preparing them. This was a wonderful learning experience for all students in Year 5 and Year 6.
Congratulations to Mia (Year 5) and Isabella (Year 6) who were adjudicated to be the winners from their respective grades. They will now go on to represent St Francis of Assisi at the Southern Region Finals in Term 4.
