Principal's Message
Welcome back to the 2025 school year!
It has been wonderful to welcome our students and families back over the past few days and to see so many parents and carers on the school grounds. I am delighted to see how quickly our students have settled in and engaged in their learning. It’s truly heartening to witness the joy of reconnecting with friends and staff.
As we begin this new school year, I find great inspiration in last Sunday’s Gospel from Luke 2:22-40. In this passage, we reflect on the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, where Simeon and Anna recognise Him as the fulfilment of God’s promise. Just as they found joy and purpose in their encounter with Jesus, may we too find joy and purpose in our journey together at St Francis of Assisi. Let us embrace each day with gratitude and a commitment to nurturing faith, learning, and well-being.
Thank you to our dedicated staff for their hard work in preparing for the start of the year. Their commitment ensures that our students have a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment to learn and grow.
To our new Kindergarten students, and Maloni and Chloe (Year 1) and their families who are new to our school community, a warm welcome! We are excited to embark on this journey with you and look forward to all that we will achieve together.
This year, we continue working towards our vision: to be an engaged Catholic community, inspired by the Franciscan spirit, empowering all learners to reach their full potential. Our Annual Improvement Plan focuses on improving student growth in faith and learning, particularly in the area of assessment.
We look forward to working in partnership with parents and carers to build strong learning communities that enhance student faith, learning, and well-being. As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child, and our children benefit most when adults work together in a respectful partnership.
May this school year be filled with joy, growth, and countless opportunities for each of our students to shine.
