School Value Focus - Respect

Acknowledging our Catechists & School Staff
In our parish churches this weekend - Berkeley & Warrawong - catechists will be acknowledged & blessed. Strictly speaking, when we think of catechists, we think of those who go into state schools to teach the Catholic faith during special RE lessons. However, in recognition of the significant role our school staff play in teaching the Catholic faith in our school community, Fr Damien has extended an invitation to all staff from St Francis of Assisi to come along to one of the parish Masses this weekend to also be acknowledged for the important work they do and to receive a blessing.
Welcome BBQ - Thank you!
A special thank you to the parishioners from St Mary’s and St Francis of Assisi parishes who assisted with our Welcome BBQ yesterday. Your time and dedication to serving a tasty snack to the families in our school community is very much appreciated.
Upcoming Events
Shrove Tuesday - Tuesday 4 March
The Diocesan launch of Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion campaign, which runs during the Season of Lent, occurs on Shrove Tuesday. This year, St Francis of Assisi is hosting the launch. There will be visiting staff and students from all over the diocese joining Bishop Brian for this event.
Ash Wednesday - Wednesday 5 March
The whole school will be attending the 9 am Mass on Ash Wednesday. As always, parents and carers are most welcome to join us. For those who may be working Wednesday morning, there will be an evening Mass at 6 pm as well.
Formation Opportunity on the Wednesdays of Lent
This year, our parish will be offering catechesis during the Season of Lent. Each Wednesday evening of Lent, starting with Ash Wednesday, Fr Damien will be facilitating formation evenings in the hall after the 6 pm Mass. The sessions will run from approximately 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, with tea and coffee available. If you are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, this would be a great opportunity!
