WEN Student Ecological Day 2025
On Thursday, 20 March, four of our Year 5 students—Ruby, Olivia, Hudson, and Dikran, joined Stage 3 students from across the diocese at St Brigid’s Primary School in Gwynneville. The day was dedicated to exploring environmental challenges, exchanging ideas for eco-friendly initiatives, and being officially commissioned as Eco Ambassadors for our school.
The students were inspired by an insightful keynote address from Robert Servine of Green Connect and had the chance to learn about the impressive ecological efforts happening at the host school. They gained valuable knowledge about environmental issues like “fast fashion” and even had the opportunity to transform an old t-shirt into a reusable carry bag as a way to raise awareness.
Additionally, the students collaborated to create a "Creation Prayer" for specific environmental causes. They also shared their waste-free lunches and eco-conscious name badges. This experience left a lasting impact on our students, who are now eager to brainstorm and implement ecological actions at our school.
