PARENT VOLUNTEER WORKSHOPS
Parents support teachers and schools in so many ways, including P&F initiatives, canteen, Mothers’ and Fathers’ Day stalls, special food days and sports carnivals. A major area of support is that of parents in classrooms who assist by working with individual students and small groups. Parental involvement in schools is vital as it builds positive relationships and collective spirit within the school community and provides children with an example of the importance of contributing to the common good.
Parents wishing to volunteer to help in any area of the school MUST complete a parent workshop and provide a completed Parent Helper Agreement, a Working With Children Check (WCC) or a Volunteer Declaration for Child Protection in Schools. These forms are provided at the parent workshops.
If you would like to volunteer to help in any area of the school and have not attended a parent workshop and completed the appropriate forms, please complete the form found at the end of this newsletter and return it to the school office so that suitable arrangements can be made to ensure that you will able to volunteer as quickly as possible.
