Year 6 End of Year Excursion

The Tops, Stanwell Park

Last Friday, Year 6 had the opportunity to visit the Tops Activity Centre, where group leaders facilitated an experience for our students that were positive, challenging and engaging. The students participated in Bubble Soccer, Peddle Biking and the Giant Swing. For Year 6 this was an exciting day as it will be a significant memory of their final year at St Francis of Assisi.

Willson: The Goliath Tower was the best experience ever because it was exhilarating to be hoisted by your friends to the highest level and then when I pulled the chord, I felt there was no gravity and I was swinging from side to side. It was nerve wracking, but an experience I will never forget.
Emilia: Bubble soccer was fun even though it was humid and sweaty. I might be little but I smashed into the other team forgetting about playing to the soccer rules and instead I was bouncing around the field and rolling over with my legs in the air. This was great fun.
James: Peddle racing was exciting because it was something different and I learnt new skills. I learnt how to peddle around the course using my body to steer and keep it in control. I didn’t use my hands and I was very quick around the course. My adrenalin was pumping and I would love to do it again.
Mohamed E: After a catastrophic year, we finally experienced a wonderful Year 6 excursion. It was fun, entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable. I experienced activities I had never done before which I hope to do again in high school. I would like to thank Mrs Davidson and our teachers for providing us with this opportunity.
Ana Marija: Peddle racing was so much fun. I learnt how to manoeuvre around a course without using my hands. Racing as a team was awesome because I partnered with different people. Everyone supported each other and helped each other to have fun on the day.
Sophie: Wow, the Giant Swing was incredible. I was up high, 20 metres above the ground, then I pulled the green chord and swung from side to side screaming because I overcame my terrifying fear of heights. What a rush! I was technically flying through the air but I knew the harness kept me safe.
Year 6 would like to thank Mrs Davidson, Mr Green, Mrs Briscoe, Mrs Andraos and Mrs Logue for organising and supporting them on the excursion.
